Thank You For Playing Games With Us At Gen Con 2018!

We had a wonderful time at Gen Con 2018! Thank you to everyone who came by to play games with us and check out the latest from IDW Games. We had a lot to share and it was great to hang out and show off what we have coming down the line. Lets take a look at some of our favorite moments!

We demoed Batman: The Animated Series – Gotham City Under Siege at the booth each day and we can’t wait for this game to land on shelves. The co-op, threat management game from Richard Launius and Michael Guigliano is coming out in late August/early September and is a fun must-have for any Batman: The Animated Series fan. Even Batman came by to test his gaming skills at the game and loved it.

On Thursday Night at Gen Con 2018, we held a Pizza Party to show off the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures game and the release of Munchkin: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It was a fun night filled with pizza and gaming! Designers Pete Walsh and Daniel Lansdown hung out to show off the latest for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures and Jon Cohn hung out and played Munchkin: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Thank you to everyone who came by to check out the games! We had a blast playing games and eating some pizza.

We had an early look at the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures game at the booth too, Pete Walsh and Daniel Lansdown ran demos all weekend, showing off the new mechanics, miniatures, art and hanging out with the fans. Thank you to everyone who came by to check the game out! We are excited for this next chapter of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles miniatures game and are looking forward to sharing more!

We were excited for the release of Death Note: Confrontation and Masque of the Red Death too! We were excited to demo the first look at Death Note: Confrontation by designers Jordan & Mandy Goddard and it was great to see everyone’s reaction to the head-to-head hidden movement detective game. Both games are available in stores now, so be sure to go check out them out!

IDW Games To Publish Premium Collector Jigsaw Puzzles

New series of licensed premium puzzles featuring Sonic The Hedgehog and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, illustrated by fan-favorite artists.

San Diego, (June 26th, 2018) IDW Games is excited to announce its new line of licensed jigsaw puzzles for the holiday season featuring artwork from fan-favorite artists. These 1000-piece puzzles are manufactured in the USA from 100% recycled materials and built for puzzle hobbyists and fans alike. The first two puzzles in the IDW Games line will be Sonic The Hedgehog and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, both slated for release in September 2018.


Sonic The Hedgehog: Too Slow! Premium Puzzle features artwork from Sonic the Hedgehog animator and comic artist Tyson Hesse. The 1000-piece puzzle includes Sonic, Blaze, and Tangle, an all-new character from IDW Publishing’s new comic line.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Universe Premium Puzzle features artwork from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman. This challenging puzzle includes your favorite Turtles along their friends and foes.

Both of these collector jigsaw puzzles will be available in retail stores September 5th 2018.

TMNT: Shadows of the Past Board Game gets its First Expansion!

One radical playable hero add-on for the massively successful TMNT: Shadows of the Past Board game!

April O’Neil, gutsy and independent ally of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is getting a premiere hero pack upgrade from Kevin Wilson, the same creator of the critical hit, TMNT: Shadows of the Past board game.


Fans can continue the plot of the original base game, TMNT: Shadows of the Past, with the April O’Neil Hero Pack, which includes an all-new adventure comic featuring four new battle scenarios not available in any previous TMNT box set.


The expansion includes April’s action dice, which features a double shuriken and two chi faces, making her a shredded powerhouse long-range fighter. Additionally, the pack includes 7 action cards such as First-Aid, which allows her to heal the Turtles, the boot-shaking Gravity Gauntlet, that both inflicts damage to opponents and knocks them back, and the Stealth Suit, which makes her incredibly hard to hit in combat.


Also available in this expansion pack, is a new April O’Neil figure sculpt with a completely different look. With her hood up and gravity gauntlet raised, April is ready to stand up and fight alongside Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo.

In total, the TMNT: Shadows of the Past Board game expansion: April O’Neil Hero Pack upgrade includes the plastic figure, three Action Dice, seven Action Cards, a Hero Sheet featuring new art from Tony Vargas, and the Adventure Comic with 4 new Battle scenarios. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of the Past[threecol_two]


IDW Games is set to launch a Kickstarter campaign of radical proportions! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of the Past, designed by Kevin Wilson, is a scenario-driven, miniatures-based combat board game, and its Kickstarter campaign is live now, featuring a host of exclusive gaming and publishing content, including an exclusive April O’Neil Hero Pack!

“Kickstarter seems like an incredibly fun way to show the game to the fans,” said Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator, Kevin Eastman. “It’s almost like having a month long convention celebrating all things Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We’ll be able to show off all kinds of aspects of this awesome game and the IDW comic universe it comes from. There’s so much to be really excited for, but I’ll save some of the fun for when the campaign’s actually live!”

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of the Past will feature story content from the hit ongoing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IDW comic. Featuring a lasting story arc, the game allows two to five players will battle their way through a series of 60-90 minute missions with players developing their characters strengths, fighting styles, and equipment along the way. Expect to see all kinds of fan-favorite characters show up as the Turtles call on their closest allies for help in battling their deadliest foes.

“This campaign will allow us to interact with fans and give them a strong idea of what they’ll be getting in this game,” said IDW’s VP of New Product Development, Jerry Bennington. “We feel this is the definitive Turtle board game experience, and with the help of the fans, we’ll upgrade the game and add even more content to it, leveraging our talented staff and even some creators from the past that may surprise you.”

The Kickstarter campaign is live now! Backers have the choice between two versions of the game, both featuring exclusive boxes and content only available through Kickstarter. Once the game meets its funding goal, all backers will gain the ability to play as not just the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but as their long-time ally April O’Neil if they so choose. For the classic collectors, there’s a deluxe “Works Edition,” which comes with four exclusive Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles miniatures based off Kevin Eastman’s art style. More goodies will be added to both tiers as the campaign continues.
